BLYTH – The Arthur Area Fire Fighters attended the 109th FFAO (Fire Fighters Association of Ontario) convention here recently.
David Hodgkinson, a member of the local fire fighters, was elected to the FFAO board of directors during the convention, with his position to focus on law and legislation for fire fighters across the province.
One of the highlights of the annual convention is the firefighting games.
In the water ball competition at the convention on Sunday, part of the fire fighter games that is played with fire hoses, the Arthur team placed fourth out of 14 teams.
It was not all fun and games. Members attended training courses throughout the week and marched in a Sunday morning memorial parade.
