Mount Forest boys tearing up the track

Luis Ramos and Noah Kroes are living the lives of racers this summer, and doing great.

They raced the Canadian Motocross (CMX) Barefoot Racing Series on the August long weekend at the Grand Bend Motorplex and finished well.

The two day event started with rain and finished with sunshine.

Luis Ramos, son of Jorge and Melanie Ramos, of Mount Forest, raced the Barefoot series both days in the 85cc A class for ages 12 to 16 age and the Supermini GP class and came home with a win.

He took first place in the 85cc A class and a second place behind a friend from Port Franks, Duncan MacLeod, in the Supermini GP (Grand Prix) class.

Ramos is 13 and has been racing for two years, and has been riding since age 6. He rides 2003 Suzuki RM85.

Kroes, son of David and Tanya Kroes, of RR2 Mount Forest, raced the 7 to 11 age 85cc B class and took second place overall.

He also raced the Supermini GP (Grand Prix) class, which consists of bikes modified to up to 112cc and ages up to 16. He finished third.

Kroes has been racing for four years and is now 11. He rides a 2009 KTM SX85.

The duo raced last weekend at the Motopark Motocross Amateur National Championships in Chatsworth, with Kroes finishing in sixth place overall in 85cc B class and Ramos raced 85cc A class for fifth overall.

Ramos also raced the Supermini GP finishing second.
