Members of the congregation have been busy planning for their role in the first Rhythm n’ Ribs Music Festival on Aug. 14 and 15.
The festival is a project of the Optimist Club of Erin, with the support of many community partners.
Erin United Church is well known for its excellent bakers, so to compliment your ribs and music, just wander across the park for homemade strawberry or peach shortcake. Served with local fruit and of course the local creamy Steen’s ice-cream.
And you could eat the bowl … well, almost. All serving plates and utensils are compostable.
Proceeds will be used to further the mission and projects of the church. Additional information is available by calling Cathy Hansen at 519-833-9910 or Kathleen Smith at 519-833-7477.
After enjoying a shortcake, or two, make a note to see the congregation and lots more food at the Church’s Food Booth, at the Erin Fall Fair, where the peaches and strawberries will be in pies, served up with a hot coffee, tea or hot chocolate.
You can reach the church at 519-833-9727.
