Under business arising from previous council session, councillors here have given their seal of approval for a street name in the Reeves subdivision in Mount Forest.
Councillors have endorsed the name Sharpe’s Crescent.
At an earlier meeting, councillors had expressed concern over the naming of the street because it has passed a resolution that streets recognize local veterans.
At that time, they suggested proponent Robert Reeves check with the Mount Forest branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.
With receipt of an official request from Reeves, councillors assumed that discussion took place.
The motion by councillors Bob Mason and Dan Yake was that council grant permission to Reeves Construction to name one of the streets in the Albert Street area development as Sharpe’s Crescent.
Yake said that he assumed this meant discussion with the Legion went okay.
CAO/Clerk Lori Heinbuch said the Legion had advised her that there were no objections.
The motion carried.
