The chamber of commerce here held its inaugural Business Achievement Awards recently.
The Harriston Horticultural Society was recognized with the Harriston Home Hardware Outstanding Organization Award.
Nominees included: Clifford Community Church, Harriston Foodbank, Harriston Legion, Palmerston Trail Association, Minto Arts Council and the Palmerston Lions Club.
C&M?Seeds, Palmerston Grain won the Harry Stones Employer Excellence Award for employee relations and the Wightman Telecom Award for Business Innovation. Other nominees for the business innovation award included L&M?Markets and Scoop It.
Evergreen Variety earned the Larry Grummet Insurance Business Community Service Award.
The guest speaker was John Thompson who has over 26 years experience with the United Way of Kitchener Waterloo. Thompson spoke on the topic “Service in your community.”
From the judges feedback, they were amazed and very impressed with each nominee and had a tough time deciding who to select for each award.
