NeighbourWoods holding contest to find peoples favourite trees

NeighbourWoods on the Grand is inviting people to share a story about a tree that is important to them.

It could be about the apple tree under which they got married, or the sugar maple outside of the window. Story length can be between a single sentence or a paragraph. NeighbourWood would also appreciated a picture or drawing.

All entries will be displayed at the NeighbourWoods on the Grand booth at Art in the Yard, July 10 and 11 at the Elora Centre for the Arts. All entrants will receive a NeighbourWoods membership – entitling them to a 10% discount at Little Tree Horticultural on Highway 6 in Fergus, free entry to the Tree Talks and Tree Walks, and access to the tree information library.

The winner, chosen by public vote during Art in the Yard, will receive a free, one hour tree care consultation by Philip Guenter of Baum Professional Tree Care.

Send in entries by July 8 to svann@eloraenvironmentcentre.ca or dropped off at the NeighbourWoods office, the second floor of the Elora Centre for the Arts, 75 Melville Street.

Entrants should include an address for the mailing of the membership card. For more information, visit www.ecee.on.ca.
