One of the oldest old car flea markets in this area will hold its annual outing on June 12 and 13.
The Fergus Sportsplex is the site for the event sponsored by the Historical Automobile Society of Canada Central Region.
Thirty years of continuous vending in the area has brought many old timers and regular flea market visitors to the picnic and car show. Visitors will see 100 year old cars and parts to go with them. Also they will find high performance engines for the young at heart. Foreign cars, and hot rods, and trucks and tractors are also welcome.
Old car books, literature, and magazines are also offered at reasonable prices, often discounted just for the day. Buyers may find a collectable car advertisement in the For Sale box a vendor may bring along.
Once the car show starts 1960s music is played and lawn chairs come out.
A food court will offer hamburgers, hot dogs, and fries. The grounds are groomed with tight green lawn cover quite user- friendly even if it rains. Wheelchairs and electric chairs manage quite well. Entrance to the show parade is paved street quality.
Some shade tree spaces are available.
There’s always lots of room for more vendors and the vending spaces are large. Many vendors bring their motor home which can be parked right on the vending spot.
