A Special Olympics Track and Field meet for students with developmental disabilities will be held here next week.
Participants will be the students of the Wellington Catholic District School Board and the Upper Grand District School Board.
The meet is on May 19, with a rain date on May 20.
The meet is at St. James High School, 57 Victoria Road North in Guelph.
It starts at 10am with opening ceremonies and runs until 2pm.
This event is planned for developmentally challenged students enrolled in elementary and secondary schools within the two boards.
The students set goals, develop skills and improve their overall fitness through training for and participating in the event.
The focus is on friendly competition.
