RBC has announced a $10,000 donation to the North Wellington Health Care Corporation.
The donation will fund training programs and educational opportunities that will allow nurses to provide “leading edge health care” to the community.
RBC’s donation is part of a $60,000 commitment to programs that support the professional development of nurses in Grey, Bruce, Wellington and Dufferin Counties.
RBC will also be launching a Nursing Excellence awards program during National Nurse’s Week which runs May 10 to May 14. The community will be invited into their local RBC branch to read the stories of six exceptional nurses and vote for the nurse they feel is most deserving of a bursary for professional development.
The winners will use the bursary for training programs and continuing education to further develop their skills and provide advanced health care services to the community.
“Continuing education programs are a vital component in the ongoing training and professional development of nurses,” said Tanya Murtagh, professional practice manager of North Wellington Health Care Corporation. “The RBC Nursing Excellence award will allow nurses to benefit from these programs and ensure that our loved ones receive the best possible care.”
Bruce Gehlen, regional vice-president for RBC, said, “Our healthcare system is built upon the strength of our nurses. This program is RBC’s way of thanking nurses for their tremendous work in keeping our communities healthy.”
