Councillors here have approved two new directors to Wellington North Power.
Following an in-camera meeting, councillors appointed Karl Ellis and Wayne Lytle to the board for a two-year term.
The issue had been under scrutiny in recent months with questions about what was being done to replace two representatives on Wellington North Power.
At the time, councillor Ross Chaulk had said, “If at all possible … one of those representatives from the north part of the township and the other from the south end.”
Mayor Mike Broomhead contended that anyone from anywhere could apply, and the most qualified person might not be local.
“The most qualified person could also live right here in Wellington North,” Chaulk maintained.
Ellis is from Southgate Township, but has Mount Forest ties, serving as vice president of corporate and support services for the North Wellington Health Care Alliance.
Lytle lives in Wellington North (former township of Arthur) where he owns a construction business.
Lytle has previously served as a director of Wellington North Power.
