Arthur resident John Braby will be missed

Arthur resident John Braby left his mark on the community in more ways than one.

In addition to a recent claim to fame as an Olympic Torch bearer, Braby was actively serving Wellington North as a member of its Economic Development Committee.

On?Feb. 8, Mayor Mike Broomhead said “we’re all very sad to hear about the passing of John Braby.”

“Although he was only on our committee for a short time, he was certainly well liked and well respected. He put a lot of time and effort into the committee and for the betterment of the community.”

Later during the meeting, Councillor Ross Chaulk added “we’re all saddened by John Braby’s passing. He was a fantastic fit for our economic development committee. We’ll definitely all miss him at the table.”

Braby was also featured as one of several Olympic Torch Relay runners in the December 18 edition of Inside Wellington.
