It appears this year’s Wellington County Plowing Match will be held in Erin.
Last week Town Manager Lisa Hass told council she met recently with County Councillor Carl Hall to discuss this year’s match, scheduled for Aug. 19.
Hass said organizers want to host the 72nd annual event on the town’s property located behind Barbour Field, just north of Hillsburgh.
“The set up is perfect with washrooms, food booth, parking and adequate lands,” Hass told council in her report.
“I will keep council informed as I receive more information.”
Mayor Rod Finnie said he thinks the former Greaves property is a great location for the plowing match.
