The Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Board of Health held its inaugural meeting on Jan, 6.
Lynda Davenport was re-elected chairman and Amanda Rayburn re-elected vice-chairman. Keith Perron was elected Secretary-Treasurer. There are four committees of the board: personnel, finance, audit, and facilities.
The 2010 Board of Health comprises the following provincial members:
– Province of Ontario appointees Doug Auld and Diane Lindsey, of Wellington County;
– Keith Perron, Guelph; and
– Amanda Rayburn, Dufferin County.
The elected representatives from the local municipalities are:
– Wellington: councillor John Green, Warden Joanne Ross-Zuj and councillor Jean Innes;
– Dufferin: councillor Gordon Montgomery and Warden Allen Taylor; and
– Guelph: citizen appointee Lynda Davenport, Mayor Karen Farbridge and councillor Maggie Laidlaw.
Dr. Nicola Mercer, Medical Officer of Health and Chief Executive Officer is an ex-officio member of the board, which meets the first Wednesday of every month in the Aboyne office.
