This year several members of the Erin 4-H Beef Club participated in an additional club learning more about feeder animals.
Through the course of several months, feed type, cost, and intake as well as weight gain was measured. That enabled members in the feeder club to monitor costs and learn about the rewards (or loss) of selling the animal in the different avenues available.
Erin Fall Fair goers will have the opportunity to purchase some of the meat from different animals at the auction being held in the exhibits hall Friday evening of the fair.
McArthur-Bessey Auction Services will conduct the event on behalf of the 4-H members. Offered at auction that evening will be several frozen 25 pound boxes of mixed meat to take home that night.
Come and enjoy the fair events that evening, support 4-H members, and obtain some of the best locally raised beef.
Support will be appreciated by the 4-H members and leaders. Auction will be held on Oct. 9 at approximately 7pm during the Ambassador competition.
