The town has issued a request for proposals for a new medical centre, with submissions due by June 1.
The RFP was completed by DTZ Barnicke Waterloo Wellington Ltd. and released on May 1. The town has specified a number of needs, including:
– about 9,000 square feet to accommodate a medical centre for the East Wellington Family Health Team;
– that the medical clinic be “an anchor tenant” for a larger development to include additional retail or commercial space or both; and
– on-site parking (54 spaces) for staff and visitors of the development.
The medical centre will enter into a five-year lease with three options to renew, which will be signed by the East Wellington Family Heath Team and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
The RFP closes on June 1 at 2pm and the town is expected to select a winning proponent by June 12.
