Since 1995, adult art students have had the opportunity to study with some of Ontario’s most talented instructors.
The Wellington County Museum and Archives has announced the program for this summer’s art workshops in Elora.
There are 20 week-long courses offered between July 6 and 31.
Teachers will lead classes in watercolour, oil, acrylic, book arts, fibre arts, chalk pastel, drawing and print-making. Classes take place at the Elora Public School.
New this year is a week of oriental brushstroke painting led by Roslyn Levin, who has taught for several years in the Toronto and Guelph area.
Trina Koster, owner and creative director of Trina Koster Photography, in Guelph, will be teaching the workshop’s first-ever photography course. Students will learn the technical and creative ingredients for making compelling, exciting images.
Those interested in the fibre arts can learn from two teachers who are new to the program.
Elaine Quehl will share her process for making an original art quilt from start to finish. Creating Nature’s Beauty with thread painting July 13 to 17, will be led by Sheila O’Hagan from the Ottawa region.
