There is still time to apply for the Canadian International Farm Show’s 2009 Youth in Agriculture Bursaries.
Presented by Master Promotions Ltd. in partnership with Junior Farmers’ Association of Ontario, the $2500 bursaries for two deserving students are designed to give back to the agricultural community by supporting the development of the next generation of agricultural leaders.
“We’re very excited to be included in this initiative by Master Promotions,” said Brad Found, JFAO president.
The bursaries will be awarded to two students currently in their first year of an agricultural related program at an accredited Canadian university or college.
Applicants must show academic achievement and give reason for their financial need, and must not have reached the age of 30 before Jan. 1.
A panel of independent judges will decide the winners based on the applications received, but strong preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate rural leadership or strong community involvement in organizations like the Junior Farmers.

The bursary will be paid directly to the winners’ university or college once proof of registration in second year has been received. All applications received by March 6 will be accepted. Winners will be announced at the JFAObanquet on March 28 at the Festival Inn in Stratford.
