Stephen Fearing at River Run Jan. 30

River Run Centre presents Canadian folk-roots icon Stephen Fearing, in a solo performance on Jan. 30 at 8pm.

For over 20 years, Fearing’s powerful lyrics, pure vocals and masterful musicianship has kept him at the forefront of the roots music scene. The performance marks the third concert in River Run’s 2008-09 Borealis Guelph Music Series – a new five-show Friday night series dedicated to showcasing professional Guelph-based musicians in the Co-operators Hall.

Fearing secured a prominent place in the roots music scene nearly two decades ago.

Since then, Fearing has recorded another seven solo albums.

Yellowjacket, his most recent, and marks something of a departure from his previous work, as he assumes the role of producer for the first time since his early recordings.

Fearing took home a Juno award for the solo roots and traditional album of the year in 2007.

Yellowjacket was recorded in the Guelph studio of Scott Merritt who engineered and mixed the sessions.
