It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cathy Jaquith of Guelph. Who peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on December 21st at the age of 68 after a courageous battle of cancer. Predeceased by her parents Robert and Margaret Meyers of Grand Valley and older brother Paul (Elly) Meyers of Alliston. She will be greatly missed by her husband Tim of 46 years of marriage and daughter Crystal of Guelph. She is leaving behind her oldest brother James (Janet) Meyers of Mount Forest. She will also be missed by her brother and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in the small rural town of Grand Valley, Cathy came to Guelph as a teenager in 1973. Where she worked as a nanny and for the Guelph answering service. In Guelph is where she met and married her husband Tim in 1978. There they settled down to raise their daughter Crystal in 1981. Later, the family moved to Fergus in 1992 and later returned to Guelph in 2008. She took pride in caring for her family and home. Raised as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses she was baptized in 1972. Her faith was extremely important to her. Sharing her love for the Bible and hope with others was her focus. Despite many years of chronic health illnesses, she always made it a point to smile to others and be positive. Right up to her death her hope never wavered. The family would like to thank their doctor, Dr. Incitti of Geddes Medical Group in Elora for her wonderful care and support for over 20 years. Also, a huge thank you to Catrina S, nurse of Bayshore Health during her palliative care at home. Dr. Graham and Dr. Robinson of Hospice Wellington for her care and support during her time at Hospice. To the incredible staff and volunteers at Hospice Wellington. Making sure that our family needs were met and for the amazing care. We are beyond grateful! As per Cathy’s wishes cremation has taken place and no funeral will take place. It would be greatly appreciated if donations and flowers can be sent to Hospice Wellington located at 735 Scottsdale Dr., Guelph or to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Canada.
