Impaired driving

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – On Dec. 3 at about 1:15pm, Wellington County OPP officers were called about a “suspicious” vehicle on River Glen Path. 

Chantel Thompson, 31, of Guelph, was charged with driving while impaired by alcohol and drugs, possession of property obtained by crime and four counts of driving while prohibited.

She is to appear in Guelph court on Dec. 20.

MINTO – On Dec. 7 at about 3:15pm, Wellington County OPP was called to the scene of a single-vehicle collision on the 12th Line.

A 50-year-old Mount Forest man was charged with driving while impaired by alcohol and drugs, driving with more than 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood in his system, and dangerous driving. 

He is to appear in Guelph court on Dec. 20.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – On Dec. 8 at about 6:30pm, Wellington County OPP was called to the scene of a single-vehicle collision on Wellington Road 7.

A 27-year-old Brampton man was charged with driving while impaired by alcohol and drugs, failure/refusal to comply with a demand for a breath sample, failing to surrender a licence, failing to surrender a permit, failing to properly wear a seatbelt, driving with an open container of liquor, driving with cannabis readily available and failing to surrender an insurance card.

He is to appear in Guelph court on Dec. 17.

In the above incidents the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
