Fire and Ice New Year’s event to be held at Palmerston arena on Dec. 29

PALMERSTON – The Town of Minto, Minto Fire and All Aboard Palmerston want to light up the sky and bring the fun with the Pre-New Year’s Eve event, Fire and Ice, on Dec. 29.

Organizers wish to emphasize that the date has changed from previous years and will be on the Sunday evening before New Year’s Eve.

The event will be held at the Palmerston Arena from 6 to 8pm on Dec. 29 and is set to include a full slate of activities, related to the event’s theme.

Inside the arena, visitors can enjoy the best parts of the winter season with free public skating, hot chocolate, treats, and food by local community groups.

Kids can also line up for free glitter tattoos and face painting and enjoy the talents of the Magic Man.

Outside, families can warm up around outdoor fire pits, watch a blacksmithing demonstration and enjoy a meal from Berlin 95 Food Truck.

New this year, a Fire Show will be held outside at 7:30pm, weather permitting.

At 8pm everyone can gather outside for a fireworks display.

“[This year] has been a busy and exciting year in Minto and we can’t wait to celebrate with our community,” stated marketing and community development coordinator Erin Raftis.

“The event wouldn’t be possible without the support of our amazing event sponsor, Blessings to You Centre, as well as the staff and crew at the Town of Minto and the Minto Fire Department.”
