Wellington North Mayor Mike Broomhead is impressed with the job on Arthur Works Yards
At the December Wellington North council meeting, Works Superintendent Gary Williamson informed the committee that site preparation had finished for the year and that no further gravel would be taken to the site unless the weather allowed.
Williamson added that the trees were planted around the perimeter and site work would continue in the spring.
As discussion came up at Wellington North council, Broomhead said its a really nice job with the planting of the trees and spreading them out a bit.
He said it did not look like the trees were dying off after being replanted.
“Some of them are fair-sized trees,” Broomhead said.
Although Broomhead believed municipal staff did the work, chairman Dan Yake explained the work was done by a local individual with a tree spade, in exchange for some of the on-site trees.
