GUELPH – A Parry Sound woman faces charges after a Guelph Police officer was assaulted last Saturday.
Shortly after midnight on Nov. 23, officers responded to reports of three females fighting at the Wilson Street Parkade.
“One of the females was intoxicated to the point she had vomited, urinated and defecated all over herself. As a passerby attempted to care for the female, she began throwing punches,” police stated in a Nov. 25 press release. “A police officer intervened and the female struck him several times in the chest. The officer was not injured, but in the process of attempting to restrain her, became covered in bodily fluids.”
Police say the woman eventually calmed down, but became agitated again and tried to attack other first responders. She was again restrained, “leading to the officer becoming covered in more fluids,” police stated.
An 18-year-old Parry Sound woman is charged with assaulting a police officer and causing a disturbance. She is to appear in court on Feb. 14.
