GUELPH – The Legal Clinic of Guelph and Wellington County is inviting people to learn and share stories about the vital role housing plays in people’s lives at a National Housing Day event on Nov. 22.
“National Housing Day celebrates accessible, affordable and dignified housing for all,” stated a news release.
The free event, which takes place from 10am to 1pm at the Guelph Community Health Centre, 176 Wyndham St. N., will feature an interactive resource fair where tenants can discover local resources and initiatives focused on housing and community support.
Speakers at the event will include representatives from the Brant Avenue Tenants Association, the Legal Clinic, the Guelph and Wellington Task Force for Poverty Elimination, the Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition, Women In Crisis and Lorelei Root.
Attendees are also being invited to share their housing stories through video, art or writing. Snacks will be provided, and Your Downtown Friends will be serving a meal outside.
