We are at a loss for words and with broken hearts the family of Steve Keating announce his sudden passing on Nov 15, 2024 in his 55th year. Steve was born on March 5, 1970 and is survived by his very proud parents Jim and Fran Keating, Sister Jo Ann Brohman and her husband Kevin, and his brother Tom and his wife Erika. He will always be loved dearly by his nieces and nephews Kyle and Hannah Brohman and Andrew and Teghan Keating. They realize they have lost their biggest fan, Uncle Steve! Throughout Steve’s life he accomplished many things, all with dedication, detail and thoroughness. He graduated from Conestoga Collage with a degree in Materials Management that took him to different companies before coming home to be part of the family home building company with those great experiences. Purchasing was always his passion but he, like his dad and brother, did whatever was needed to be done, from payroll to cleanup, he was always a team player. His team first attitude was always on display playing hockey with his friends. As much as he enjoyed winning it never interfered with good sportsmanship on or off the ice. Making new friends and having a good time was always his priority. His extremely caring personality was always on display when you saw Steve with one of his many pet dogs, his first love being Komet. But Steve’s passion was on the water, behind a boat being pulled by a tow rope. His God-given natural talent and lack of fear on water skis and especially barefoot always enlightened anyone that had the opportunity to witness his performance. As good as he was behind the boat he was even better in the boat teaching anyone willing to give his sport a try. His kind, patient, encouraging personality was extremely infectious and his inspiration willed many individuals that additional strength they needed to get up out of the water. This was truly his happy place and we will always cherish our fond memories on the water with Steve. We would like to thank all that have helped Steve through his journey. It hasn’t always been easy but the support of this community has been amazing and we will forever be grateful. A private family service will be held at a future date. Consider memorial donations in support of Hospice Wellington. Arrangements entrusted to Graham Giddy Funeral Home (280 St. David St. S, Fergus, ON. 519-843-3100).
