Aberfoyle students play large role in Puslinch Remembrance Day ceremony

Tableau – Students at Aberfoyle Public School participated in the Remembrance Day ceremony at the Puslinch Community Centre on Nov. 11. They created a fictional story of a soldier, Sam, who goes off to war with a puppy named Freedom. Through his many challenges and losing fellow soldiers to battle, Sam finds himself fighting for Freedom and finally brings Freedom home. Students presented the story through narration and a series of tableaus. Photos by Joanne Shuttleworth

Poppy offerings – After the service, many Aberfoyle Public School students lined up to place their poppy pins on the cenotaph outside the Puslinch Community Centre.

Hope and prayer – Rev. Lisa Dolson offered a prayer and words of hope in a world still riddled with war, at the Aberfoyle Remembrance Day service. Mayor James Seeley read the names of local residents who served and died in service to the country and Optimist Michael Marinovic MCd the event.
