GUELPH – A man has been charged with second-degree murder after a Guelph man was found dead in his apartment last week.
On Nov. 5 Guelph Police officers attended an address on Woolwich Street near Speedvale Avenue to check the wellbeing of a tenant. A 51-year-old man was found unresponsive and pronounced deceased on scene by paramedics.
“Following a thorough investigation, which included a post-mortem examination, the death was ruled a homicide,” police stated in a press release.
A 25-year-old man of no fixed address, who was already in custody on unrelated matters, has been charged with second-degree murder. He was to appear in bail court.
“There is no ongoing threat to public safety,” police stated.
