WELLINGTON COUNTY – Local police continue to lay intimate partner violence charges across the county.
Those arrested include:
– a 41-year-old from Fergus, who was charged with two counts of spousal assault in relation to an incident in Fergus on Nov. 4;
– a 26-year-old from Guelph, charged with spousal assault and criminal harassment in relation to an incident in Morriston on Nov. 7;
– a 23-year-old man from Fergus, charged with mischief in relation to an incident in Fergus on Nov. 9; and
– a 31-year-old woman from Kitchener, charged with assault in relation to an incident in Fergus on Nov. 10;
The accused individuals are to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
Commercial driver charged
GUELPH-ERAMOSA – Wellington County OPP has charged a Guelph resident with numerous driving offences.
On Nov. 6 at about 3pm, OPP officers were monitoring traffic when they “detected a suspicious vehicle and performed a traffic stop on Spirit Valley Path, Guelph-Eramosa,” police stated in a press release.
A 31-year-old from Guelph was charged with improper licence for a commercial vehicle, load not secured as required and overweight vehicle.
The driver was also warned about driving a commercial vehicle without a valid permit, driving without a valid commercial vehicle operator’s registration certificate and driving with a load not secured.
The accused is to appear in court at a later date.
More driving charges
ERIN – A Barrie driver is facing numerous driving charges after being stopped by police last week.
On Nov. 4 at about 9am, Wellington County OPP officers monitoring traffic on Winston Churchill Boulevard “detected a suspicious vehicle and performed a traffic stop,” police stated in a press release.
A 36-year-old from Barrie was charged with driving with a load not secured, driving a commercial vehicle with a major defect, fail to enter a defect in a daily inspection report and two counts of overweight vehicle.
The accused is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
