Erin hires IT manager as part of ‘digital transformation’

ERIN – The town has hired Asher Jaffri to the new position of manager of information technology and digital transformation, effective Nov. 12.

Jaffri most recently served as an enterprise architect for Air Canada’s Aeroplan Program and its Contact Centre operations.

Within a municipal context, Jaffri previously led the application services team at the City of Richmond Hill, overseeing technology implementations and innovation across the city, library system and public works operations.

“Asher’s background in leading innovative technology initiatives is a great asset to the technological advancements we have planned for the town of Erin,” said Erin CAO Rob Adams.

Town officials say Jaffri holds a Bachelor of Human Resources Management (honours) from York University and various graduate certificates in information technology.

“In his new position, Asher will lead the development and implementation of innovative digital transformation initiatives across the corporation,” states a town press release.

“These initiatives will support the town of Erin’s strategic goals while ensuring that Erin’s information and technology solutions remain innovative and sustainable.”
