GUELPH – The County of Wellington has hired a new director of housing.
As of Nov. 18, Dave Purdy will join the county’s housing services team, the department responsible for the delivery and administration of provincially mandated social and affordable housing programs and initiatives to prevent and address homelessness.
Purdy replaces previous director Mark Poste, who left the role in July.
County councillor and chair of the joint social services and land ambulance committee David Anderson made the announcement during the Oct. 31 council meeting.
Anderson said Purdy has worked for the City of London for 12 years in different roles, including division manager of housing services, business administration, and manager of centralized support services.
“We’re looking forward to working with him,” Anderson said. “He’s a great individual, and he’s going to help us in many situations.”
In the interim, the director of housing services role has been filled by Paul Skinner.
