FERGUS – Dancers from the Blue Bonnet School of Highland Dance competed at various competitions throughout the Fall.
Sept. 14
Maribelle McBroom attended the Montreal Highland Open Competition. She placed fourth in Fling, and fifth in Sword, Lilt, and Seann Truibhas.
Sept. 21
Dancers competed at the Guelph District WOHDA competition. In the Beginner 9 years and over category, Harlyn Heathers placed fifth in Reel.
In the Novice 10 and under 13 years category, Cayley Simpson placed second in Reel, and sixth in Flora and Seann Truibhas, and Scarlett Jackson placed fourth in Reel, and fifth in Sword. In the Novice 13 years and over category Brooke Bailey placed fourth in Flora and Seann Truibhas, and sixth in Sword.
Oct. 26
Dancers competed at the BATD Western Ontario Festival. In the Beginner 9 and under 11 years category Harlyn Heathers placed third in Sword, fourth in Seann Truibhas and Flora, and sixth in Reel; Isley Sy-Green placed third in Reel, sixth in Sword and Flora; and Hadley Heathers placed fifth in Reel and sixth in Seann Truibhas.
In the Beginner, 11 years and over category Ziva Sobol placed sixth in Seann Truibhas. In the Novice 11 years and over category Cayley Simpson placed second in Reel, third in Flora and Sword, and fifth in Sword; Brooke Bailey placed fourth in Reel, and fifth in Seann Truibhas and Flora; and Maribelle McBroom placed second in Sword, and sixth in Flora.
Nov. 3
For the last fall competition, dancers competed at the Halton District WOHDA competition. In the Beginner, 10 years and over Ziva Sobol placed fifth in Lilt and Fling, and sixth in Sword and Seann Truibhas.
In the Novice 10 and under 13 years, Scarlett Jackson placed third in Fling and Sword; Cayley Simpson placed second in Fling, fourth in Seann Truibhas, fifth in Sword and Lilt; and Maribelle McBroom placed sixth in Fling. Lastly, in the Novice 13 years and over Brooke Bailey placed third in Seann Truibhas, fourth in Fling, and fifth in Sword.
