Buy a ‘NovemBurger’ to support food security programs through local United Way

GUELPH – November just might be the best time to go out for burgers.

That’s because United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin is launching NovemBurger, a month-long fundraiser for the organization that also celebrates eating local.

“Grab a burger, support a local restaurant and give back all at the same time,” states a news release.

All month long, participating restaurants in Guelph, Fergus, Elora and Orangeville will donate $2 from every NovemBurger sold to United Way.

Funds raised will support food security programs in Guelph, and in Wellington and Dufferin counties through the local United Way’s From Poverty to Possibility and Rural Communities focus areas.

At the end of the month, restaurants taking part will also be eligible to win one of three awards: Top NovemBurger, People’s Choice NovemBurger (as voted on by the public) and Most NovemBurgers sold.

Participating restaurants include:

– Guelph’s Miijidaa Café and Bistro, the Wooly, Park Eatery, Borealis Grille and Bar, Baker Street Station, Bar Mason, Montana’s on Stone Road, Royal Electric, State and Main Kitchen and Bar, and NV Kitchen and Bar;

– Elora Distilling Company;

– Fergus’ Breadalbane Inn; and

– Orangeville’s Deja Vu Diner and Tap House Craft Beer.
