Here4Hope event focus is reducing anxiety, stress with ‘mindfulness’

ELORA – People struggling with sleep issues, anxiety or stress might want to check out this year’s Here4Hope event at the GrandWay Events Centre on Nov. 7.

The county has engaged “Mindful Mike Masse” as the keynote speaker for the annual event, hosted by the county’s suicide-prevention project.

“We’re incredibly fortunate to have Mike Mass as this year’s keynote speaker for our annual Here4Hope event,” project lead Cecilia Marie Roberts stated in a news release.

“Mike is an energetic speaker whose workshops have helped many reduce daily stress, anxiety and improve sleep.”

Masse is described in the release as a “mindfulness consultant,” public speaker, and best-selling author who specializes in mindfulness-based stress reduction.

For more than a decade, he has been teaching adults, youth and children mindfulness skills to help reduce their levels of stress and anxiety, it stated.

“Mike’s engaging and encouraging style will have you feeling excited and hopeful about what mindfulness can do to transform your well-being and your professional practice,” it stated.

The event runs from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Admission is free, but people are asked to register online at here4hope.ca.
