Improv workshop with Lisa McNeil set for Nov. 23 in Elora

ELORA – Elora Community Theatre (ECT) is excited to reschedule the improv workshop with Lisa McNeil.

An actor, director, and choreographer, McNeil is an active member of the Guelph and area theatre community.

Her most recent work was as a director of Guelph Little Theatre’s Almost, Maine.

She also played the nurse in Romeo and Juliet, Bunny in House of Blue Leaves and Mrs. Tottendale in The Drowsy Chaperone to name a few.

She holds a diploma in musical theatre as well as an honours degree in drama.

McNeill has been coaching improv for 15 years, and is excited to bring this elusive craft to the ECT community.

The improv workshop is free and will be held Nov. 23 from 1 to 4pm at the ECT workshop, 227 St. Andrew Street W, Fergus (2nd floor above I Love Chocolate at back of building.)

The workshop will focus on the types and fundamentals of improv through various fun games and exercises.

In a safe and supportive environment, both actors and directors will begin to learn practical and simple ways to use improv as a tool to explore character development and storytelling.

“Bring your inner child and let’s say yes to playing,” official state.
