GUELPH – Guelph MP Lloyd Longfield presented the King Charles III Coronation Medals to twenty Guelph residents at the River Run Centre Oct. 16.
Nominations for the medals were accepted and recipients were chosen by a committee tasked with reviewing the achievements of local persons who have helped build the Canada of today.
Individuals were recognized for their long service and good conduct as a volunteer or member of an organization; for having demonstrated high professionalism; or for performing a deed or activity that contributes greatly to Canada and/or the community.
The recipients reflect King Charles III’s commitment to encouraging volunteerism, to promoting environmental sustainability and to empowering youth, said officials.
