Waterloo Wellington Older Adult Strategy launches age well senior’s calendar

FERGUS – The Waterloo Wellington Older Adults Strategy (WWOAS) launched its 2025 Age Well seniors’ calendar at the Victoria Park Seniors Centre on Oct. 18.

“At the Drayton seniors centre we say ageing is not for wimps,” said Christine Platt, geriatric systems implementation facilitator at WWOAS.

“It has its hard times just like the other chapters in our lives.”

The calendar features local older adults from Guelph and Wellington and aims to debunk the myths related to aging.

The calendar working group was led by the Waterloo Wellington Older Adult Council (WWOAC) and the Seniors’ Centre for Excellence, with partial funding from the New Horizons for Seniors Grant and support from GW Paramedics.

The calendar includes a daily wellness check-in, interactive games such as crosswords and a phone and website directory for local services. The calendar also features some inspirational stories of experiences combatting ageism by local older adults.

The calendars are free and available at the Victoria Park Seniors Centre and the Upper Grand Family Health Team in Fergus.
