Annie Jean Proctor, 91, of Fergus, ON, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 21st, at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus. Annie is survived by her husband of 73 years, Robert Proctor, son Robert Proctor (Judy), daughter Cathy Creary, sister Donna Watt, brothers Harold Ovens and Eddie Ovens, grandkids Jeremy Creary, Angela Creary, Ashley Beyer (Kyle), Jessica Proctor, Bobbie Proctor, Brooke Creary (Kait), David Creary, and many great-grandkids. Annie is predeceased by her father Walter Ovens, mother Elizabeth Ovens, sons Bruce and Brian Proctor, son-in-law Don Creary, sisters Marion Brown and Dorothy Hewitson, and brother Gordon Ovens. Annie worked at Guelph General Hospital until her retirement in 1979. She was an avid curler and was president of the Elora Legion Branch 229 Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Annie and Bob just celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary. Visitation was held at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South, Fergus on Wednesday, October 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9pm, with a Legion Service that took place at 6pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 24th at 1pm; with visitation 1 hour prior from 12-1pm. Interment will take place at Belsyde Cemetery in Fergus immediately after the funeral service. Following the interment, guests are invited to the Elora Legion, 110 Metcalfe Street, Elora for a time of fellowship and refreshments. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Elora Legion Branch 229 or to Caressant Care Fergus, and the family greatly appreciates them.
