CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex was alive with chatter Oct. 3, as volunteers and organizations mingled during the 2024 Centre Wellington volunteer fair. The fair, which featured over 30 organizations, aimed to connect local residents with new volunteer opportunities within the community. Organizations such as the Fergus Grand Theatre, Crime Stoppers, Elora Festival Singers, and the Fergus Lions Club were all in attendance. Earlier in the day, the fair hosted a separate session geared towards high school students.
Representatives from the Groves Hospital Volunteer Association, which runs the New to You second-hand store, discuss volunteer opportunities with community members.
Portage, a residential drug rehabilitation centre in Elora, gave out free waterbottles, foam balls, and other goodies to volunteer prospects.
