Speedside Church returns to its popular sit-down dinners

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Speedside United Church is returning to pre-pandemic days as it offers its popular sit-down dinners once again.

Church member Bruce Miller said the church offered takeout meals during the pandemic, “but we’ve had a few requests for the sit-down dinners,” he explained.

“So we’re giving it a try again.”

The first dinner is on Oct. 3 from 5 to 6:30pm at the church, which is at the corner of Wellington Roads  29 and 22.

The meal costs $27 per person and includes ham, baked potatoes, baked beans, coleslaw, a bun and a slice of pie.

“We’re famous for our baked beans,” Miller said.

Miller said the church can seat about 60 people at a time. Officials anticipate staggered seating after the first rush.

The event is a fundraiser for the church. To place an order, call 519-822-1731.
