The Elora and Salem Horticultural Society’s fall plant sale did not disappoint.
Proceeds from the event go toward community gardens and horticultural projects in Elora and Salem.
The organizers thank everyone for donating plants and supporting this sale.
Summer, too, was lively for the society.
Many volunteers planted and tended public gardens throughout Elora as part of the community beautification project.
Despite the wet weather, there were 156 quality entrants at the annual flower and vegetable show.
Jude Dowling was the overall winner, with most points in the show. Katrina Musselman walked away with the prize for top points in the junior category.
The society thanked all participants for their entries, organizers Sharon Leggett, Nancy VanVeen, Jo Rich, and Pamela McDaniel for their time and efforts and all of the prize sponsors for supporting this event.
If orchids intrigue, attend October’s monthly meeting of the society. Gerald Swan will be on hand to discuss Orchids and their General Care on Oct. 22 at 7:30pm in the library of the Elora Public School. Everyone is welcome. No admission fee.
