Of Drayton passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of family at Hospice Wellington, Guelph on Monday, September 16, 2024 in his 84th year. Husband of Nancy Campbell and the late Margaret (Armstrong) Schieck (1994). Loving father of David Schieck and Ellen Choi of Centre Wellington, Gary Schieck and Mary-Lou Fletcher of Moorefield and Shelley and Jason Russell of St. George. Cherished grandfather of Joel, Christopher, Aidan and Celine Schieck; Noah (Madison), Wes (Haven), Tory (Reed) and Austin Schieck; Ethan (Angelina) and Jacob Russell. Step-father of Jayne and Les Horbay and Hugh Archipow. Dear brother of Mary Schieck Thompson and Vic Roberts of Drayton and Tom and Yvonne Schieck of Moorefield. Brother-in-law of Wilma Dailey, Dorothy and Robert Fletcher, Mary Boucher, Leila Forbes, Rea and Kathleen Armstrong and John Lack. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Orrin and Electa Schieck and sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Joy and Sam Armstrong, Harold and Mabel Udy, Myrna and Bill Cherry, Reita Cherry, Clare and Judy Schieck, Grace Lack, Keith Dailey, Bruce Boucher and Robert Forbes. Bruce had a true love for his family, farming and the community where he spent all of his 84 years. He served the Upper Grand School Board as a Trustee for 27 years. Bruce was also on the original Board of Directors for the Drayton Festival Theatre that was founded in 1991 and was still a standing Board member. The family will receive friends at Moorefield Community Centre, 15 Ball Ave on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00pm. The Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held in Moorefield Community Centre on Monday, September 23 at 11:00am followed by interment in Bethesda Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Drayton Entertainment for Youth Academy, Drayton United Church, Hospice Wellington or the Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
