GUELPH – Dominique O’Rourke was acclaimed as Guelph’s Liberal Party of Canada candidate for the federal election scheduled for next year.
The Guelph Liberals held a special nomination event at the Italian Canadian Club on Sept. 12, as current MP Lloyd Longfield passed the baton to O’Rourke.
Longfield had previously announced he will retire when his term of office is done.
O’Rourke is currently a two-term Guelph city councillor.
The next federal election will take place on or before Oct. 20, 2025.
