Shred documents to support Crime Stoppers

MOUNT FOREST – Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington is offering people a chance to dispose of their sensitive documents by the box-load.

The organization is hosting a fall “shredding event” on Sept. 14 at 9am at 381 Main St. N. in Mount Forest.

Mobile shredding services will be provided by Wasteco, and the cost is $10 per banker’s box, with all proceeds benefiting Crime Stoppers GW.

And don’t worry about pulling out the staples. Acceptable materials include all kinds of paper, books, photographs, window envelopes, file folders, receipts, staples, paper clips, and even small bulldog clips and soft bindings.

You can also shred things like credit cards, ID cards and gift cards.

Things that cannot be taken include metal binding, binders and plastic book covers, batteries or electrical devices, clothing, rolls of paper, reels of film, garbage or recycling items and hard plastic or metallic materials.

The event will continue until noon or until truck capacity is reached.
