The federal election campaign is now in the final week and Elections Canada is still hiring workers to serve as polling day officials for the Wellington Halton Hills riding.
The returning office has been busy in Acton at 21 Main Street, mailing voter information cards with instructions about where to vote as well as adding names to the List of Electors.
Electors can register for the List of Electors, and if they choose, vote at the returning office.
The location of each of the Wellington Halton Hills riding polling sites are indicated on the Voter Information Card sent out to all registered electors three weeks ago.
If anyone has not received a Voter Information Card and wants to vote, they can also register at their polling site on election day.
For information as to where people in a particular place will vote, contact 1-866-281-5091.
Like the 2007 Ontario election, new identification rules will be adhered to at each poll.
Elections Canada has sent a pamphlet outlining acceptable documents to each resident across Canada.
If anyone did not receive that pamphlet in the mail, they can use the above phone number.
Workers are needed at the polls, so if anyone who would like to work on Oct. 14 can call that number or apply on-line at www.elections.ca.
Workers must be a Canadian citizen and can work only in the electoral district where they live.
