No one was singing the blues at Water Cycles Bikes and Blues Festival

Community art - Local artist Stephanie Lines-Toohill created this art projet made from old bike rims and participants of the festival were invited to add their own creative contribution to it. Lines-Toohill said the art piece will be on display at the Elora Centre for the Arts in the future, likely as an outdoor installation.

Bike racks - Never have bike racks been in such demand as at the Water Cycles Bikes and Blues Festival, that culminated in an outdoor concert at the Wellington County Museum and Archives, featuring Tragedy Ann, Kristine Schmitt and Andrew Penner. More than 100 cyclists participates in the event, that strove to highlight water and the Grand River.

ABOYNE – Participants in the Water Cycles Bikes and Blues Festival, held on Aug. 24 at the Wellington County Museum and Archives, had the option of taking a 100km, 30km or 10km loop according to their interest and ability. The routes for the event will be posted online so anyone can take them and visit the water features – dams, bridges and rivers – along the way. About 125 people took part in the cycling part of the festival, and organizer Dustin Garrik said interest was so high this year officials had to start a wait list. The festival culminated in an outdoor concert at the Wellington County Museum and Archives, featuring Tragedy Ann, Kristine Schmitt and Andrew Penner.
