GUELPH – The Wellington Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) has confirmed a partnership with Guelph Soccer Club for access to the new turf field at Bishop Macdonell Catholic High School set to start Aug. 16.
“We are excited about the completion of this project and the opportunity to partner with Guelph Soccer,” said WCDSB associate director Tracy McLennan.
“This partnership will benefit our students, families and the greater community as it allows more access to youth sports and activities.”
Guelph Soccer presented a successful partnership project proposal to the board expressing its interest in using the available partnership space at Bishop Mac.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with the WCDSB to make use of the space outside of school hours,” said Guelph Soccer Club executive director David Frizzell.
“It is partnerships such as this that gives us the best opportunity to meet the demand for more soccer in our community.”
Bishop Mac’s sports field was redeveloped from fall 2023 to August 2024 to include a new six-lane polyurethane rubberized running track and full-size artificial turf field.
The new sports field is accessible to use through permits only.
Interested parties wishing to book the field or track can contact communityuse@wellingtoncdsb.ca.
