It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Peter William Hyndman on Friday July 26th, 2024 at the age of 88. Peter was surrounded by family as he passed peacefully to be with his dear wife “Joanie” who passed on January 26, 2021. Loving Father to Kimberly Cabeldu (Jeff) of Powassan, ON; Bryce Hyndman (Deb) of Lakeville, NB; Kerri Valiquette (Mark) of Hartington, ON; Brent Hyndman (Caroline) of Elora, ON. Stepfather to Howard Atkinson (Deb) of Toronto, ON; and Heather Cressman (Jay) of Kitchener, ON. Peter leaves behind many cherished grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Woodworking, teaching, music, and art were his passions. His love for woodworking and carpentry was infectious. Many of his students went on to pursue careers related to the skills they learned in his classroom. Even after retiring from his rewarding teaching career at Centennial CVI in Guelph, he continued his craft by offering his wood creations at the Guelph Farmers’ Market and later at the Stratford Market. He was a talented woodworker and has passed that love to his children and grandchildren. While pursuing his Bachelor of Arts degree, Peter developed a love for sketching and painting with watercolours. He could often be found sketching just about anything that he encountered. His family members have the privilege of displaying his artwork for all to see. In respect of his wishes, a celebration of life is to be held privately at a later date. Donations can be made in Peter’s honour to a charity of your choice.
