The final show in the Belwood Summer Theatre is an original play called Dress Code.
In the distant future, a small-but-determined group of teens rebel against the strict clothing requirements placed upon them by a totalitarian government.
In a secret hideout, they gather to show off illegal clothing from the past, and share their knowledge, all the while keeping an eye out for the dreaded fashion police who could come barging through the door at any moment.
Despite its premise, the play is filled with humour and friendship. It’s George Orwell’s 1984 meets Saved By the Bell.
Dress Code, from Grinder Productions, Runs Aug. 20 to 22 with three 8pm shows and a 2pm matinee on Aug. 22
