PALMERSTON – Food Day Canada will be held on Aug. 3 at the Minto Farmers’ Market.
The market has curated a special meal box that includes a dining experience for four filled with local market ingredients.
Pre-orders are open until July 24 and can be found by visiting www.mintofarmersmarket.ca/food-day-canada-box.
For $30 plus tax, the market will provide a healthy meal, dessert and a complimentary farmers’ market tote bag.
Pickup will be on Aug. 3 between 10am and 12pm at the Minto Farmers’ Market/Palmerston Railway Heritage Museum located at 164 William St. Palmerston.
Those interested in participating in Food Day Canada in other ways can do so by shopping local farm stores and farmers’ markets, lighting up buildings red and white to shine a light on Canadian cuisine or by turning on a flashlight at home, on Aug. 5 at 9pm.
Wellington County Taste Real and Farmers’ Markets also encourage people to take the pledge to cook, shop and dine Canadian to win one of three local cookbooks and farmers’ market bucks prizes valued at $140 each.
