Bring your own Teddy bear.
It is time for the 20th annual Teddy Bear Picnic at McCrae House. On Aug. 21 from 1 to 4pm the museum will host an afternoon of Teddy Bear themed festivities. This year, there are all of the old favourites as well as new entertainment, games, activities, and crafts for families to enjoy.
Highlighting the day will be performances by popular children’s band, Taking Turns, the Guelph Guild of Storytellers, and an interactive performance by Little Fingers Music.
Games include the Teddy bear road race, bowling, the Teddy bear mural and bearsketball.
Other activities designed with a Teddy in mind include: the bean bag bear toss, the Teddy bear picnic passport, the gummi bear guess, and bear judging contests. Categories for judging are: best look-a-like bear (bear that looks most like its owner or owner that looks most like his bear), best bear family (must include at least one adult and w children, plus your Teddy bears), best bear character (dressed up as a character from a favourite story or movie), and best bear switch (best bear dressed as another animal, or other animal dressed as a bear).
